I was employed as an Artist to work with Years 3 and 4 for one day a week on two Textiles projects that linked with the curriculum subjects of Volcanoes and The London Skyline. Following basic sewing activities the pupils worked collaboratively to design and produce two large collaged textile wall hangings depicting the geology of a volcano erupting. For the London Skyline topic we looked at the work of Mondrian to create an abstract style, drawing the buildings in lines of black tape filled with coloured squares of fabric.
